Nestled amidst the serene landscape of Lake Bohinj, this iconic establishment has been revitalized to blend contemporary comfort with timeless elegance. With a rich history spanning three decades, the hotel’s new owners embarked on a bold initiative to reimagine its essence, resulting in a comprehensive overhaul encompassing structural reinforcement, interior rejuvenation, and sustainable enhancements.
Embracing Tradition
Preserving the hotel’s architectural heritage while infusing it with modern amenities was paramount to the design ethos. The existing structure was carefully preserved, augmented by a new wooden framework envelope to enhance stability and seismic resilience. Larch wood cladding adorns the exterior, seamlessly integrating the hotel with its picturesque surroundings. Inspired by local vernacular architecture, the design pays homage to traditional craftsmanship, ensuring a harmonious blend of past and present.
