Unveiling Camille Bernard: A Graduation from Glasgow School of Art

Camille Bernard, a talented artist, graduated from the prestigious Glasgow School of Art in 2016. Her journey into the world of art explores intricate themes such as community, care, transformation, and adaptability. Bernard employs human forms as her artistic medium, creating a harmonious interplay between reassurance and disquiet within her paintings.

Fluid Evolutions: Navigating Emotional Landscapes

Within Bernard’s artworks, characters come to life through gestures of tenderness, collaboration, and friendship. These figures express a wide spectrum of emotions, from poised unconcern to humor and profound emotion. Fluidly adapting to the landscapes they inhabit, Bernard’s characters engage in diverse activities, including resting, embracing, feeding, playing music, building, and contemplation. Each scene is portrayed with grounded, sensorial elements, offering a slightly delusional perspective that adds depth to the narrative.

A Deeper Narrative: Uncertain Futures and Struggles for Survival

Behind the stillness and candor of Bernard’s scenes lies a compelling narrative. Her paintings hint at the foreboding prediction of an uncertain future and the inherent struggle for survival. Bernard’s work goes beyond mere visual aesthetics, prompting viewers to reflect on the profound implications of the human experience.

Current Exploration: Uzerche, Corrèze and Collaborative Spaces

Presently based in Uzerche, Corrèze, Camille Bernard actively contributes to a collectively run space. Her latest masterpieces are featured in the exhibition “Nest” at CAC-Bretigny, a collaborative effort alongside artists Simon Lahure and Corentin Darré. Additionally, her works are on display at the group show “Arcadia” hosted at SISSI Club in Marseille. These exhibitions provide a unique opportunity to witness Bernard’s ongoing exploration of the human condition and its ever-changing dynamics.
